Toyota Park to Host Porky’s Rib Fest
            Live music and entertainment are among the events on tap this weekend with the inaugural Porky’s Rib Fest visiting Toyota Park in Bridgeview. The four-day festival kicks off on Thursday, June 27th at 4 pm on Thursday and runs through Sunday evening.
            Featuring premier barbeque restaurants from the Chicagoland area, along with a concert performance from the British rock band Foghat, it is expected to bring many visitors to the Bridgeview area. “We’re very glad to have this summer festival choose Toyota Park to host its inaugural event,” Mayor Steven Landek said. “It gives us an opportunity to showcase our village and show what Bridgeview has to offer them.”
            In addition to the live music and food vendors, Porky’s Rib Fest includes a daily carnival, a fireworks show at dusk on Saturday, and a car show on Sunday from 1- 5 pm. The festival will be open from 4 to 11 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, from 1 to 11 pm on Saturday and from noon to 11 pm Sunday.
            Tickets for adults are $10 for a daily pass, while tickets for children ages 6-12 are $5. Children 6 and under have free admission. For those planning on attending more than one day, it is $30 for a four-day pass.        
Among the food vendors will be local favorites Chicago BBQ Company and Uncle Bub’s BBQ from Westmont, in addition to Texas Thunder BBQ from the Lone Star State and Aussom Aussie Australian BBQ from Down Under.
In addition to the classic rockers band Foghat, who are performing on Saturday from 9 to 11 pm, the festival will include music from bands such as Kashmir, South of the Border and Jared Blake, who was a contestant on the debut season of NBC-TV’s The Voice.
